Introduction
In Kepion, it is simple to reverse the order a hierarchy is displayed on a form. Reversing the hierarchy order in an Excel PivotTable, on the other hand, can prove complicated. This article explains how to reverse the hierarchy order in a PivotTable.
Reverse hierarchy order
If you want to display the whole hierarchy in the reverse order, you will need to explicitly expand all hierarchy members. We have expanded only a few in this example for simplicity.
2. From the ribbon, go to the PivotTable Analyze tab > Fields, Items, & Sets > Create Set Based on Row Items.
3. Use the Up and Down buttons to re-order the set.
4. Uncheck Display Items from different levels in separate fields.
5. Select OK to finish.
The PivotTable will use the set you just created. However, you will lose the expand/collapse capability. You will also need to manually indent the row/column labels.
