Introduction
We highly recommend configuring the memory threshold of SQL and SSAS server. Otherwise, each server will consume as much available memory as possible, and potentially kill the environment.
Example
We have three best practice suggestions for memory allocation:
- Always ensure the OS for the machine has at least 2G of available memory. 4G is recommended.
- Kepion/IIS should have at least 2G of available memory. 6G is recommended.
- SQL/SSAS should have more memory compared to Kepion/IIS server.
You can download our memory calculator below; enter the memory size of your server, and it will tell you how much memory to give to SQL and SSAS server. To learn how to configure the memory limit of SQL and SSAS server, please refer to the setup guide.
