Organizing Components
Within the page, we can drag to move and resize components freely. The position and size can also be adjusted on the bottom right corner by entering the values directly.
Right-click on the component, you’ll find more options you can choose from. You can bring the component to front, or send it to back.
Alignment
Use the Align formatting feature to automatically align selected components vertically and horizontally. For example, the Align Left option will align all the selected components to the left-most component.
Make Global and Make Local
The option Make Global allows you to set the component (not valid for Forms) to apply to all the pages, and you can surely reverse the action using Make Local. If a component is surrounded by orange dash lines indicating it is set to be global, otherwise it is a local component.
Make Shared
Dashboard components can be shared to specific pages by using the Make Shared feature. Simply right-click on the component, select Make Shared, and choose the pages that you would like to have the component included on.
Components that are shared on a page will show a green outline when selected in edit mode.
The Make Shared feature simplifies the management of components on a Dashboard when they need to repeat on multiple pages.
Selection Pane
You can also use the Selection pane to organize the components.
You can rename the components for easier organization by clicking on the name.
The components are visible when the eye icon on the right is open, and they can be hidden by simply clicking on the eye. If they stuck in your way, you can hide all the components by clicking on the Hide All button, and you can also show them all by one click away if you want them back.
Similar to PowerPoint, you can adjust the layers of the components by clicking the upward arrow or downward arrow beside the Hide All button. You can also bring the components to the front or the back by right-click on the components and select the options.
Dashboard Header
Another important part of the Dashboard Designer is the Header.
The Dashboard Designer allows you to design the header within several easy steps.
- The design panel here is no different from that in the Dashboard. Here you can set the background and the border of the header.
- You can also add image and text on the header by right-clicking.
- If you check the option Stretch at the upper right corner, it will allow you to set the header to be stretching out, and it will remain the way it is if the box is unchecked.
Like in the navigation bar, you can set Selected and Unselected modes for the buttons in the header.
Hide Dashboard Control Components
You can hide Dashboard control components from the Dashboard by clicking on the settings icon.
Choose to hide any of the components by clicking on a checkbox. Once a component is hidden, that component will no longer be visible from the Dashboard.
Preview a Dashboard
PREVIEW is the place where you can see the whole picture of the Dashboard. It can give you an immediate feedback towards the modifications you have made to the Dashboard.
Branding a Dashboard
You can set the profile image for the dashboard you create in the SETTINGS. Please make sure the image used here is exactly 200px by 200px in size.
Create your Own Color Template
You can now create your own color template for use through-out the application by using Color Template under the Application -> Settings.
Once the Color Template is set, you can re-use the same colors in any color component within the application.
If you do not have permission to do so, ask your System Administrator for help.
