Introduction
The Notification node allows administrators to view and customize your email notification templates for workflow actions. Notifications can be used to automatically update relevant workflow members when certain workflow actions are taken on an app instance.

Before you start
- A system admin must configure email notifications before they can be used. Learn more.
- An administrator must enable notifications for the app. Learn more.
Navigation
Follow the instructions below to go to the Notification node.
1. Go to Administrator and select an application.
2. Go to Notification using the left navigation.

Select message template
In the ribbon, the node has four tabs each corresponding to a workflow action and the Message Template dropdown.
Message Template
Select a template to be used in the current application. The English, Spanish, or Chinese (Simplified) templates are system defined so they cannot be modified.
Tab | Description |
---|---|
Submit | Shows the notification template for the Submit workflow action. |
Approve > Approver | Shows the notification template sent to the next approver after an approver performs the Approve workflow action. |
Approve > Participant | Shows the notification template sent to all workflow participants after an approver performs the Approve workflow action. |
Recall | Shows the notification template for the Recall workflow action. |
Reject | Shows the notification template for the Reject workflow action. |
Customize message templates
Note: You will need a basic knowledge of HTML to customize message templates.
The Notification node offers the option to completely customize the template for each workflow action. Select Custom from the Message Template dropdown to get started.
