Introduction
We strongly recommend configuring the memory threshold of your SQL and SSAS servers. Otherwise, each server will consume as much available memory as possible, potentially shutting down the environment. This article provides general recommendations for memory allocation and a 'memory calculator' to see what thresholds work for your setup and environment.
Recommendations
- Always ensure the OS for the machine has at least 2GB of available memory, but 4GB is recommended.
- Kepion/IIS should have at least 2GB of available memory, but 6GB is recommended.
- SQL/SSAS should have more memory than the Kepion/IIS server.
Memory calculator
You can download our memory calculator below. Enter your server's memory size into the calculator, and it will tell you how much memory to give to SQL and SSAS server.
Note: To learn how to configure the memory limit of SQL and SSAS server, refer to the setup guide.
