Introduction
We strongly recommend configuring the memory threshold of your SQL and SSAS servers. Otherwise, each server will consume as much available memory as possible, and potentially kill the environment.
Example
We have three recommendations for memory allocation:
- Always ensure the OS for the machine has at least 2GB of available memory, but 4GB is recommended.
- Kepion/IIS should have at least 2GB of available memory, but 6GB is recommended.
- SQL/SSAS should have more memory than the Kepion/IIS server.
You can download our memory calculator below. Enter your server's memory size into the calculator, and it will tell you how much memory to give to SQL and SSAS server.
Note: To learn how to configure the memory limit of SQL and SSAS server, refer to the setup guide.
