Introduction
The Write Restriction tab allows system admins and application admins to restrict user input to specified dimension members for an app. In other words, data can be changed only in the dimension members added on this tab, while all other members in the same dimension(s) are read-only. This constraint differs from dimension security as this restriction is applied to individual apps, not the entire application.
Note: By default, users have access to all dimension members.

Navigation
Follow the instructions below to go to the Write Restriction tab.
1. Go to Administrator and select an application.
2. Expand Apps and go to an app.
3. Go to Write Restriction.
You will land on this page:
View write restrictions
Upon reaching the tab, you will see a list of the app's write restrictions. The column values provide key information about each write restriction.
Column | Description |
---|---|
Dimension | The dimension of the member that allows user input. |
Member | The dimension member that allows user input. |
Manage write restrictions
The Write Restriction tab offers the following actions to manage write restrictions.
Add
Add a write restriction.
Remove
Removes the selected write restriction(s).
